biography ryan kate messer was born second of the eventual four messer siblings. she was an honest surprise upon her arrival, not due to the lack of planning as her parents always wanted more than the one, vinton, who was born four years earlier but rather because during the nine months of her mother's pregnancy she was believed to be a boy. it is why her first name of ryan remained as thinking on their toes was far from a strong point for the surprised messer parents. growing up in the messer household was nothing honestly out of the ordinary until around the time that ryan turned six which was when the pair decided to divorce after months (at least to ryan's childlike brain) of fighting. it was as amicable as a divorce could truly be. the pair decided to allow their children to choose who they wanted to live with, which came a surprising even split. ryan and vin remained in los angeles with their mother, while adriana and --- moved to san francisco. the siblings were shuffled between the two california cities during summers and most holidays so be able to either have two celebrations or be together for the major holiday. though the four siblings grew up apart, their bonds remained tight where unless you were let into their story, you wouldn't know they did not actually grow up together. during the hard adjustments though growing up, dance became an easy escape for ryan as she had began taking lessons when she was three thanks to her grandmother's insistence. it was the time where she didn't have to try to pretend to understand what was going on within her life because with dance she did understand. summers and some holidays she would get picked up or drove into san francisco depending on her parents' work schedules, but mainly her life was los angeles based. after high school, though ryan applied to various schools nationwide, she remained in los angeles to save up while she figured out what her life would become post-collegiately at least. her degree plan was always going to be something to do with business. though she loved dance, she knew being a "dancer" would be a pipe dream and too much stress on the body not to mention the mind. so she began teaching and working as an assistant in the dance school she once was taught in herself while attending college in business administration. in may 2017 ryan graduated with her bachelor's of science and remained at the dance school that she worked with throughout the college years until she finally had enough of being the last messer remaining in los angeles. after driving in to celebrate christmas 2017 with her siblings, she never returned back to lax. she arrived with whatever she could fit in her car and a job interview but otherwise nothing else. now that the two year point is getting closer, ryan lives with her sister and her gal pal which saved her from her couch surfing ways when she had first arrived in san francisco. recently, she just accepted a promotion from customer relations associate to the campaign and individual giving manager at ODC.
